Product Development / Application Scientist, Haemostasis
Reports to
Team lead (Manager) of Application Development and Complaint Testing, R&D Haemostasis
Purpose of job
Develop new and/or update existing applications, and provide technical support for customer complaints for haemostasis clinical diagnostics.
This position will entail a high degree of autonomy, continual employee development and initiative.
Essential responsibilities
Stay abreast of the current scientific literature and the current needs of the market, and anticipate the future needs of the market.
Work with Marketing, Customer Technical Service, and identify key attributes, and performance aspect opportunities for Haemostasis applications.
Conduct scientific studies and analyze data and observations to develop and validate applications.
Reengineer existing applications to adapt to changes in market, business, and/or regulatory requirements.
Plan and execute experiments to develop robust applications using advanced design of experiment techniques
Coordinate and assist the formal creation of approved applications in conjunction with the Quality and Regulatory Groups
Participate in product complaint investigations within the company and subsequent report handling.
Cooperate with other functional areas and groups within the company, leading by example.
Serve on ad hoc committees, such as Safety or Compliance, as needed.
Qualifications
An advanced life science degree to M.Sc or PhD level (or equivalent experience), with extensive laboratory experience in biological sciences.
Demonstrated competence in common and complex biochemical techniques and basic statistical concepts.
A minimum of one year practical experience in an IVD industrial capacity such as R&D, Production/Manufacturing, or Manufacturing Support.
Experience in the field of Haemostasis would be advantageous
