Department Manager QC
The successful candidate will report to the Head of Quality and will have responsibilities in the following areas:
- Responsible for the overall coordination of all Quality Control Laboratory functions through direct supervision of the QC Lab Supervisor.
- Management of the quality control department resources (instruments and personnel) to provide a comprehensive analytical service for:
- QC testing of raw materials / intermediates / finished products
- Stability / Water / Environmental testing programmes
- Technical Transfer / Validation of new and existing processes
- Generation, implementation and control of QC annual budget for consumables, capital and headcount.
- Ensure that QC lab carries out its functions in accordance with GMP.
- Overall responsibility for recruitment, training, motivation, discipline and appraisal of QC staff.
- Review and approval of all QC documentation.
- To highlight and where necessary implement new technologies in QC area
- Assist in preparing for and supporting external audits (IMB, FDA, corporate, client).
- Participate in the vendor certification programme as a lead auditor.
- To act as QA representative on major projects as required.
Applicants must possess the following:
- Minimum of a Degree in Science discipline
- Minimum of 3 years QC Laboratory Management experience
- Experience in budgetary control and audit preparation (IMB, FDA, Corporate and Clients).
- Thorough knowledge of GMP and current FDA & EMEA regulations for solid oral dosage pharmaceuticals
- Previous experience in managing the performance of individual team members and that of the overall team
- Be highly motivated and possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Previous experience in Lean Management is preferable
