 A Vacancy Exists for a Production Planner
Reporting to the Planning Manager, the successful candidate will responsible for satisfying customer demand by producing and monitoring achievable production schedules based on demand, available capacity and resources. At all times inventory levels must be managed to ensure financial exposure is kept to a minimum.

The successful candidate should have > 3 years experience in production planning / production scheduling within an MRP II environment. Pharmaceutical or diagnostic industry experience preferred, but not essential.

As the planner of a product group, you will be part of a cross functional team and will work closely with Purchasing, Demand Management, Customer Service, Production, Warehouse, Engineering, QA, QC, Finance and Tech Support.
The production planner will be responsible for the following;
  • 100% Data Accuracy.
  • Drives to achieve zero back orders and 100% shipment to OPD.
  • Ensure revenue / ‘put-to-stock’ targets are achieved in line with commits.
  • Ensure safety stocks are always planned to be in place.
  • Micro management of zero tolerance SKUs to ensure no stock outs and that safety stocks are maintained.
  • Manage inventory at intermediate and Finished Goods levels in line with forecasts / stock holding policies.
  • Ensure that Macola ERP is maintained to reflect reality at all times. Including identifying and maintain planning item master data, i.e. planner codes, planning time fences, lead times, order qty’s, safety stock levels.
  • Coordinates activities within cross functional team through planning meetings and communication to ensure all team members are aligned to achieve the above.



Education and Experience

  • Preferably 3+ years experience in planning / scheduling.
  • Thorough knowledge essential of day to day practises within MRP II environment.
  • Conversant with company policies / procedures / regulatory and FDA standards
  • APICS qualification preferred but not essential
  • Third level qualification preferred but not essential



Skills and Behaviours

The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills, (both written and verbal), excellent interpersonal and presentation skills and be team focused so as to have the ability to work as part of an interdepartmental cross functional team. They will be able to demonstrate a sense of urgency and an attention to detail in their approach to their day to day job. They will need to have the ability to balance work loads and multiple issues at once and have a good knowledge of and computer skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint & Word. They will also have excellent presentation skills and be comfortable holding people accountable.
